Hello:

My nephew was born with Esophageal Atresia, without tracheoesophageal Fistula. It took two surgeries to correct. He is now five years old, and has a significant problem with GERD. He takes Prepulsid, and Prilosec. My sister received a notification in the mail stating that Prepulsid is being taken off the market. I understand that it may still be available under certain conditions, however.

I am a recent subscriber. I've been looking through the Internet for a while trying to learn as much as possible about my nephew's condition. Does anyone know if there is a surgical procedure such as Nissen fundoplication, that would be of a more long term benefit for him. I'm very concerned because I've read that there is a likelihood that if the reflux is a persistent problem that he may develop cancer by the time he is in his teens.

Also can anyone lead me to more information about Domperidome and Iberogast that I can pass on to my sister in Canada.

Thank you.

Eric Peterson
