Michael,
Sorry you are having troubles.. I was in same situation last year. Reflux, Gastritis..etc. I was placed on 6 weeks of Prevacid to "clear things up". It did improve, but I went in for an upper and lower endoscopy anyway. I first got the gastritis and Reflux in July 1999. Even now, certain foods give me troubles.. 11 months later. For me, it was a very slow, gradual process. I was just able to tolerate coffee and chocolate last month ( in small doses) Spicy foods.. well. I can handle a little, but not like I ate before I got sick. I take zantac or tums twice a week even now. My best advice is to be patient. Eat mild, easy to digest foods and every few weeks, try something "new" to see if it bothers you. If it does, then you will know not to try that again for awhile. Two Steps forward and one step back.. but moving forward. Good Luck and I wish you a rapid recovery.
