Basically fully recovered!

For those that are curious, I took the Doxycin tablet right before I went to bed with barely any water. I understand that this is wrong NOW, but I obviously didn't expect this (and neither did any of my doctors). That night, the tablet rested in my esophagus causing a small lump. The medicine also has a side-effect that it may cause rare side effects of esophagitis. So because it got stuck and aggravated my esophagus, it also inflamed it because I assume the medicine was absorbed there also. Not a comfortable experience.

The pill is gone. They only saw evidence of the lump during the gastroscopy and I was told that all I could do is wait. I was prescribed Losec (a brand of Prilosec) which blocks acid-production by 90%. These puppies are expensive too, $4 EACH pill. Luckily I have healthcare coverage and only need a week's supply.

For the rest of you taking Doxycin, take LOTS of water with your pill and don't go to sleep after you have it. Good luck for those of you with long-term conditions; I wish you the best of luck.
