Sorry to hear of all that you went through. I had to take doxycycline recently for an infection. Fortunately, my doctor told me to take it with food so it wouldn't bother me. I took it right after I ate. The pamphlet that came with the medicine also said to sit up very straight or to stand while taking the medicine and to drink a full glass of water. I stood up every time I took the pill and made sure I drank enough water. I didn't have any problems with the medicine, thank goodness. Even with other pills, I now make sure to drink enough water and to stand or sit up straight. There's no telling what can happen on the way down! Hope you're feeling better.
