Gallbladder surgery

From: NEF

Comments

Finally received the results from the HIDA scan with CCK to test how well my gallbladder is functioning. Turns out, it's only functioning at 14%. Below 30% is considered too low. Four doctors say the only solution is to have it removed. It's been causing me considerable pain for the past several months. I now wonder how much of the pain I thought was from the GERD was from my gallbladder. Too bad it took so long for my gastroenterologist to finally listen to me and believe that something else was causing the pain. It was my primary care physician who suspected something else, and that convinced my gastro. dr. to do more tests. I've heard from one other message board member about the same problem and was wondering if anyone else has had this, too. Also, has anyone else been through gallbladder sugery? I'd like to know how your recovery went. Any remaining problems? I just hope the surgery doesn't stir up my GERD, which has been under control lately. I'll let you all know when my surgery is scheduled. In the meanwhile, keep me in your thoughts so that all goes well. Thanks!
