Hi there- I have had to have THREE 24 ph tests, and I am not the bravest person in the world, but I have to tell you, it's nothing to worry about! The thought of it is worse than the actuality!
All three times, I was not hospitalized for it, and I went home and did all sorts of things in an effort to have a "normal" day so the test results wouldn't show a false reading....I actually did an aerobics tape, washed floor on my hands and knees, did yardwork, etc. I also ate things that I thought would bring it on---chocolate, etc.
By the next day, I'll admit, you're ready to have it pulled out(takes a nanosecond!) and there is some soreness in your nose after several hours, but honestly, don't fret! I busied myself by watching the numbers on the monitor change constantly with what you eat and drink and found the whole thing interesting...don't get me wrong, it's not that I wish to do it every day, but if you take the test in the mindset that it is to help diagnose you so that you can heal, and think that by the next day it will be over with, it'll be ok...just take one hour at a time and smile! It really helped me to do housework and keep my mind busy---just sitting there watching the clock and the tv can not only make the day seem to drag, but could influence your readings if you aren't active enough. Good luck to you with your results!!!
