Didn't you notice this sentence, "Patients with impaired motility who have Nissen fundoplication are no more likely to suffer persistent dysphagia than their counterparts who have Toupet fundoplication." In my laymen's opinion, they appear to be saying that people with motility problems will not have more trouble swallowing if they have a Nissen rather than a Toupet fundoplication. So, IMHO again, why bother getting a Toupet since this procedure isn't as effective as a Nissen in preventing reflux?
