Your symptoms could certainly all be on the basis of GERD, but other etiologies must be evaluated as well. The lack of extensive enough findings on the pH test should not mean stopping the investigation into your symptoms. If an upper endoscopy shows esophagitis (inflammation of the lower esophagus), you may have proof that you would benefit from the operation. Keep investigating further.
