Oh, Dr. Sherman -- maybe the surgeon I am about to see will forgo it, as well! Also, maybe their techniques are different (or their instrument, as you said), from what I had a month ago at a motility center. Having it in there was OK, but at one point, during a meal -- or maybe five minutes after I'd finished -- I very slightly started to choke, or I felt the food came up. I sat very still, and let the food go down and the moment was over, but I was trembling. I have an impaired peristalsis, anyway. That thing in there felt like there was a hair stuck down my throat. I've been living in fear because I was afraid they'd want to repeat this test at the Center I will be going to (USC) as they like to do their own (and particularly since I wasn't told to eat fatty foods. I just stuck to my normal, slightly low-fat diet, except a lot of cheese). I don't want to die taking a PH test!
