I Had a fundoplication done in 97.But afterward I still had chest discomfort, heartburn.I went to the Mayo clinic to get tested and find out what the problem was.My phtest showed an acid exposure of .05%,which is low.My les pressure was 27mm.with good esophageal moltility.DR. HInder said evertything looked good and it would just take time to work itself out.Now 3 years later while taking a ppi most of the time I had a scope done and they found columnar intestinal metaplasia in the stomach side of the les.Dr. HInder was apparently incorrect in his dx.Since then I have read about bile reflux.also I read an article by Dr. Demeester on delayed esophageal clearance due to a to tight fundoplication. What do you think. What would be the next logical step to take to find out the problem as this is getting quite serious.
