I've had GERD for about 3.5 years diagnosed through barium x-ray (3.5 years ago) confirmed through endoscopy (2 yrs ago - no cellular). Have had limited help with meds and am now on Aciphex. Although the burning and chronic sore throat seem improved I still have what feels like a chronic knot or pressure just below my sternum. Could this be related to my GERD? maybe Haitial Hernia? They did not see one 3 years ago but could one have formed since then? What tests should I have now to narrow down this issue? Know surgery may be a future option but would like to have a better idea of my complete problem. Am 43 years old in otherwise good health but GERD is starting to really impact my overall health. Thank you.
