The Va hosp has finally decided to perform the fundoplication surgery. They are asking me to decide if I want it done lathroscopically or open, which one should I choose? The surgeon who would do it the "lap" method has only done it 10 times that way. She says she would ensure there is a more exp surgeon from another hosp in OR at sametime. The chief surgeon would perform the open surgury if done. Need help in decision.Dont think 10 times is enough. Chief surgeon comes from a general surgery background who has performed hundreds openly. Thank you for advice
