I have been diagnosed with GERD, gastritis, duodenitis, moderate esophagitis, and hiatal hernia. I am on Prevacid for about 4 months now. I am now having chest pain for about two weeks about two inches below collar bone, sore throat almost every day now for the past two months, excessive mucous very thick and sticks to the back of my throat for about the past two weeks, and sometimes difficulty swallowing pills. feels like they get stuck in the back of my throat ( that is not every day and it is only pills and not food) I also can feel cold drinks go all the way down to my stomach. Are these symptoms of my reflux problem or could they be something else?
One more thing, a couple of days ago I noticed what looked like blisters in the back of my throat and tonight I looked again and they are still there and looks like a few more. Can this be from reflux coming all the way up to my throat? I don't have the burning as long as I take my Prevacid but I do have the chest pain. Should I call and make an appointment with my GI doctor? I do not have a follow-up appointment until August.
