I have been diagnosed with GERD, Demeester score of 48. Manometry is normal. Barium swallow indicates small, 2-3cm, hiatal hernia. Poor response to PPIs. It seems I am a good candidate for Lap nissen. However I am concerned about where I experience pain. It is seldom high in the chest. 95% of the time it is right below the bottom of the sternum, sometimes to the right or to the left. Could my pain be associated with anthing else? Or does anatomy put my esophogeal junction right there? Recent EGD showed no problems except for mild chronic gastroesophogitis. Any thing here that would give you pause in terms of surgery? thanks
