Hiatial Hernia Question

Could you describe what a sliding hernia would feel like? I am having this sensation along the diaphram to the left of the sternum. I have read here where a hiatal hernia can present with left chest pain radiating to left arm. But what about one that is sliding? What would a person feel if there is no burning or reflux symptoms?
