It is possible that one doc saw the Hiatal hernia and the other one did not Get a barium swallow to determine the presence of a HH Also, if the lab where you got the PH study done is good ,he should be able to give you the demmeester score ( Normal under 14.8 abnormal i.e. presence of GERD > 14.8
