I'm a newcomer to this board. Is it common to have chest pain and belching but not have the actual heartburn sensation with GERD? I don't have the typical burn but have chest pain and that is usually followed by belching or by the need to belch and a gnawing sensation in my back on the left side. I have repeatedly been assured it is not heart related but some type of GERD. Prevacid and Prilosec have only offered temp. relief. I was dx with IBS as a teenager so I am no stranger to GI problems. I'm interested in trying alternative such as vits. or herbs but not sure where to start. Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same symptoms and if anyone has success with alternative therapy..Thanks..
