The ENT was able to give me some peace of mind about my hoarse voice, I was really afraid of what could be causing it...As I am a Speech/language Pathologist and I need my voice to make a living. I also know "too much" when it comes to that part of the anatomy. He feels that it is a combination of the reflux and the extreme winter dryness that is causing my problem he actually said that despite the fact that my chords looked red that they were actually in good shape and weren't showing some of the complications that GERD patients often have. He gave me a perscription to take if the dryness gets real bad and he also told me about a product that is available over the counter called "Entertainers Secret" It is apparently widely used by singers, actors, public speakers, etc. So I will give those things a try and see if my voice gets any better. The new Gastro-Doc. read all my records and really listened to what I had to say...He has ordered an abdominal and pelvic CT scan as well as alot of different blood work then I've already had. He is also ordering stool sample testing for a parasite. so everything is scheduled and I go back to him again on Feb.3rd. We'll see what happens....MMN Last changed: January 11, 2008 |
