I have had an upper gastro intestinal muscle disorder for about 15 years. It took about 3 years to diagnose. I was put on a test drug called cisapride now known as propulsid. I still take 20mg of propulsid before meals. I have always gotten occasional heartburn. I have done fine as long as I have continued on the propulsid.(I tried going off a couple of times). In the past 6 weeks I have started experiencing horrible heartburn. Somedays its for 24/7. My gastro put me on prevasid which seemed to work right away and lasted that way for about 2 weeks. I am now back to 24/7 at least 3 days a week. He has increased my prevacid to 30 mg twice a day, and prescription zantac twice a day, but I'm still getting the heartburn. I had an endoscopy in August of 98 but everything was fine???? What could be causing this???? Thanks
