My dad has constant acid reflux. He has heartburn more than 2 times a week, he has it like 2 or 3 times a day. He does smoke and I have done some research about the relationship between smoking and heartburn. I just can't seem to figure out what is causing his pain. His eating habits have changed since he first experienced it, but that hasn't changed the effects or frequency of the problem. He can't seem to eat anything at all. Everything seems to trigger his heartburn. It doesn't matter what time of day. Can somebody please tell me of any other causes for such frequent and intense acid reflux or what he can do to diagnose his problem. He doesn't drink alcohol at all he only smokes.
