I got the results of my motility and Ph studies back teserday. Appearantly, my upper and lower sphincter function are normal, but my esophagus motility is impaired. And the contents of the esophagus is not acid. So I don't appear to be having acid reflux. My gastro-doc's theory is that my esphogus's poor motility does not effectively "clear" itself. So bile and other gastric contents spend too much time in there causing the throat pain symptoms. He has suggested taking Alternagel?, or Ampigel? to "bind" the bile. He's also suggested taking propulsid or reglan ( which I'm NOT going to do at this point). Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this kind of a problem? Thanks!
