I have been having reflux problems for about a year now and am sick and tired of it.I have a hiatal hernia that is causing moderatly severe reflux that is the diag. after the 24hour ph and motility test.My gastro. doc. is recomending that I have surgery to repair the hernia and tighten the LES.But i hear so many people saying that the surgery doesnt last and that scares me.I have tried prevacid,aciphex and prilosec and prilosec is the only drug that even relieves some symptoms. I 29 years old and dont want to take medicine the rest of my life and sure dont want to develope cancer of the esophagus.thanks for any info.
