Respectfully, you have to look "deeper": what causes the LES to relax? What causes the overproduction of acids? What causes the sudden hypersensitivity of the esophagus to the acid? Stress is a major factor,as is shallow breathing etc which robs tissues of sufficient oxygen etc etc. What causes the body to have lowered immunity which allows it to entertain bacteria, viruses etc? These are the BIG questions.
