Is pickled ginger (Japanese style) same as ginger juice?

It seems a lot easier to buy a jar of pickled ginger, those delicious pink slivers, then peel a ginger roots and send it through a juicer etc. But does anyone know if the effect is similar in healing esophagitis? I checked the ingredients on the pickled ginger and it also contains some vinigar and some sugar. Thank you!
