Re: Gastritis and a Hiatal HerniaFrom: Anita WM CommentsHi Eric, see my response(s) to your endoscopy posting below. I'm more and more convinced that lying down helps a lot for the hernia. Last night, before going out for dinner, I was nervous about the GERD, as by late afternoon it's usually tender and esophahatis is acting up; I had a nap for 1.5 hours, woke up, hernia all "relaxed", felt great. I am also sitting up the straightest that I can or I eat standing up. Driving in the car is bad when I'm all crunched up, I feel like my intestines are fighting for space and then the GERD gets worse. I'm still blaming a lot of my lot on antibiotics in November( a 3-day series, now I know they are very hard on GI) and again in December for ear infection which wouldn't go away with drops. THAT seems to be when gastritis set in,then I couldn't eat at all and I felt like someone was non-stop rubbing sandpaper up and down my esophagus. Again, better at night. You don't seem to have esophgatis, though, do you? (see how lucky you are). Best regards, Anita. Last changed: January 11, 2008 |
