Dear Confused, Don't hesitate to get an appointment with a specialist!! You need to have as much information about what is going on with your body as you can get. Don't allow your fam. doc. to make that decision for you, if you feel you need more information than you are getting. Your first responsibility is to yourself. Take care of yourself. Good luck.
