Barrett's is potentially serious, due to can lead to esophogeal cancer. Your husband has to get treatment and be closely monitored. I believe with Barrett's there are changes in the esophogus. Make sure your husband is under care of a specialist. Also I believe this web site has info on Barrett's. Good luck p.s. I have basically the same type of symptoms as your husband but am resonding to Prilosec. Prevacid didn't work for me. Has he tried Prilosec? Also maybe he needs a higher dose. I'm on 20 mg twice day.
