Hello my friends! After being so totally frustrated that I still am getting intense symptoms even though I'm on a PPI (and have been for 2 1/2 weeks) and can't stay "erect" in bed cause I keep sliding off my pillows in my sleep...and I can't drink that delicious smelling coffee in the morning that my husband enjoys...and I can't make dinner reservations for Valentine's day cause it would be a complete waste of money as I can only eat a small portion...I feel my only option at this point is having surgery to repair my hernia. Last night (and this is with a PPI) I couldn't believe the amount of "throw up" in my throat all night...today I'm raw. I can't stand it any longer. I'm still waiting to hear when my appointment is with the gastro doc... and I'm hoping I can get in soon. After reading this message board for a few weeks now...I'm quite amazed at the number of people who are taking medication and still getting symptoms and are still not able to lead a normal life. I'm 35 years old and the mother of a young girl...and I'm not ready to give into that lifestyle yet. I'm wondering why more people aren't considering the surgery...in everything I've read it's 80 - 90% effective these days and then you can live normally. Any input appreciated please and thanks. P.S...any good suggestions on propping up the bed (queen size).
