From: Hawk CommentsI was merely pointing out that there is a relatively long history with Prilosec. This in contrast to the rat studies that are mentioned on the same web site. The stomach tumors that developed in the rat studies have not occurred in humans. The only exception to this statement is a relatively few people that had an underlying disease that routinely causes these tumors on it own. No connection to Prilosec could be established in these human cases. What will we find 25 years from now is anyone's guess. Many of us with Gerd have been dealing with this disease for a lot of years. We have tried lifestyle changes and many other kinds of treatments. Some of us have found that PPI's help us live a more normal life while we continue to search for something better. The purpose of this web site is to educate, provide a forum for discussion and to explore all options and possibilities for relieving symptoms of Gerd as well as to effect a cure.
