Alyce...I have the same symptoms as you. I too have a hiatal hernia and GERD. In addition, sometimes my tongue burns and some of the glands in my neck get sore. I also have an ache in the ear which sometimes feels clogged and itchy. All these symptoms come and go. I've been to the doctor. He's prescribed antibiotics. They helped a little but the symptoms are still there. I've been taking Prevacid every other day. I think I'll go back to one a day now. I don't understand how I can be getting acid up into the throat if a Proton Pump inhibitor is supposed to stop the production of acid. Anyone out there know? Some have suggested that post nasal drip also irritates the throat. Perhaps the sore throat could be also related to allergies. I plan on seeing my doctor tomorrow.
