Jen/Paul- hope you don't mind me lumping together answers to both of you- didn't want to get buried in the chain below.

Jen- I noticed substantial improvement after the inflamation subsided- about 2 wks. after procedure. I did notice some slight incremental improvement over time. The doc. who performed it is a GI surgeon. The clinic is Minnesota Gastroenterology in Minneapolis. Yes, they did tell me that another injection was possible if I didn't get results. They said that in the early stages of the trials they frequently did second injections. Since then, they have increased the amount of material injected, and that seems to reduce the need to do it again later. They also said it may have to be re-done in 10+ years. They didn't use any CO2 on me; hadn't heard of it before you mentioned it.

Paul- When I had this in June, I think there were around 75 implants in the US at the time. The initial trials ended in June, but they were going to try to start new ones again in Sept. Don't know if they did. I was told there are only 5 centers in US and Canada doing them. As for the % of persons totally off meds post-procedure, I think they said it was around 85%, and they thought that # would increase as they perfected the injection technique. The implant can't be reversed or removed, but so far there has been no reason to do so. I don't know if you could have the implant after having Endo- you'd have to check that out.
