Paul- I had a 12 hr. pH test and manomentry test, and the barium swallow-xray test prior to the procedure. Since I am part of the clinical study, the sponsor company is paying for everything, so I did not have to submit to my insurance. I read an article a few months ago that said the big insurance co.'s are not paying for Sretta or EndoCinch, because the consider them experimental- even though both have been FDA approved!

As far as eating tacos, I've already passed that milestone. About 6 weeks after the enteryx procedure, I went to my favorite Mexican restaurant and ate a plateful of favorite foods loaded with hot peppers and extra hot sauce. Washed it down with 2 beers. No heartburn at all. I did, however, have some stomach discomfort for a few hours. I can drink OJ, beer, hot sauce, and not have any heartburn now. The real test comes in Decemeber, when they do the pH testing again.

Jim
