I was also told 6 months for the damage to recover. And then the doctor added, "Or even 8 months."
So that doesn't surprise me. I think the doctor is absolutely right about not taking any medication now, even if it might help temporarily with symptoms, but rather allowing your body to re-establish a new "normal."
