Just noticed that a few days ago you asked me if I'm gerd-free, and I never responded. I apologize for missing your note til now.
I'm nearly 11 months post-Nissen, and I think I am completely OK now. (I was in the "very, very slow" recovery group -- in school they'd call it the remedial healing class! :)
Yes, the doctors were stunned that I had a clear esophagus. It took me 18+ years to get a diagnosis, and because I'd been sick for so long, they were expecting Barrett's, if not worse. I know I am extremely fortunate.
