I noticed a LOT of people saying they have throat burning.... and a good amount with throat spasms or gagging and nausea also and suddenly I am wondering, could it be the PREVACID? The reason I ask is this: I was on 30 mg of prevacid for about a year when that stopped working, so the dr. upped me to 30 mgs twice a day which is about the usual maximum. That worked for a while except I had difficulty breathing which was my predominant reflux complaint in the beginning... well even on Prevacid 30 mgs twice a day I had such severe damage to the upper throat and respiratory track I went into severe crisis with breathing and finally laryngospasms (airway seals shut) SO doctor puts me on 30 mgs FOUR times a day to stop the laryngospasms and it does that much but the gagging starts and the nausea starts and the constant throat burning starts after this, as well as continued difficulty breathing. SUDDENLY TODAY I AM WONDERING THIS; HOW MANY OF US THAT HAVE THE CHRONIC THROAT BURNING ETC. ARE ON HIGH DOSAGES OF PREVACID?
