Hi Ben - I think you have to do what is most comfortable for you. Personally, I would do whatever I could to avoid having more than one operation (after my fundo, I swore that I'd never do any surgery again!), but that's just me. If you do go for the gall bladder surgery only, be SURE to find out if you can later do a lap Nissen if that seems appropriate in another year or two. I think you'd be very unwise to put yourself in the position of having to have an open Nissen.
Also, be sure to consult with at least one other top-rate surgeon re: your final situation, so that you'll have piece of mind.
