I have atypical Gerd - pain below sternum rather than heartburn and when oesophagus/gut is irritated, after being sick etc. will get skipped beats. I believe it is connected to the vagal reflex and the vagal berve in a lot of cases. The irritation of the oesophagus/reflux make the vagal nerve sensitive - slows the heartbeat and allows skipped beats in those susceptible; although some GI doctors (and some Cardio doctors) are sceptical - others are only too happy to admit a connection.

The testimony of many GERD sufferers appears to support the relationship.

It would be interesting to know if anyone had less or no skipped beats post-fundo.
