I experience chest pains with the absence of heartburn as well, very tight, and constricting after swallowing(be it water or saliva), pain about a 7 on scale of 10. Used to cause me anxiety, before i got diagnosed with GERD. Someone also mentioned in an earlier post to check the gall bladder.? I am now on an H2 blocker and it has substantially reduced the chest trauma i experience. It's very reassuring to know it's not your heart! Just wanted to say I can relate! Have you had a scope done? I will be getting mine done in 3 months(waiting lists) as my doctor thinks there is a little more going on than GERD. we shall see. take care TLC
