I've always told my doctors that I never get heartburn, however I do get chest pain. I'm wondering if chest pain IS heartburn.
My chest pains are almost always in the same place (slightly left of my sternum) and can be felt as a sharp pinprick, brief spasm, or occasionally like a sharp burn that can radiate to my back. These pains usually come and go, but can last from morning until bedtime, regardless of whether I eat. Most of the time, the pains occur on an empty stomach.
Is this the same as heartburn?
Could you folks with actual heartburn describe how it is experienced? What do you feel?
Thanks!
