I have been on Pepcid 40mg before breakfast and before bed. My GI doc added Nexium 40mg before supper due to my continued intermittant hoarseness and scratchy throat and some break through heartburn. Well it's been only 7 days on this combo and I know this is early but I'm cautiously optimistic. The hoarseness has not returned yet and neither has the heartburn. I still have the scratchy throat but expect that to take time to heal. I hope I can reduce some dosages (mgs) down the road.
I have seen other posts asking about using PPIs and H2 blockers together. They can be given together and sometimes even work.
