If you've been reading posts here for long, you'll see other post-fundo folks with the same reaction. I believe you are simply suffering from internal swelling -- you do not need meds. For some reason, the swelling seems exactly like reflux. The solution: You need to go much more slowly. Stick to liquid and soft food until this goes away. (It will take you longer now, as you're in this condition. It goes faster if you can prevent reaching this point in the first place.)

Check out old posts (including the old message boards) -- look for Julie's posts especially. You'll find that she solved this same problem by being more careful -- her doctor was not right in his instructions re: what to eat. Stomach acid is key to digestion, by the way, so if you do PPIs at this point, you're really making things difficult for your GI system. Not only does it have to recover from the surgery, it has to figure out how to take care of what you eat with less acid!

Don't despair please. Just take care of yourself and give your body a chance to heal itself. It will. Ignore your doctor, if he is telling you that you should be eating normally, etc. by now. Not everyone can do that right away. It took me quite a few months. I am 100% fine now and don't regret the long process of healing for a second.
