different things can cause dry mouth from medical conditions to medications like some antidepressants etc. but if there is not much saliva being produced and swallowed, they say that can ADD to GERD because, the saliva helps with esophageal clearance of acid out of the esophagus if there is plenty of saliva. I would ask the doctor to test for sojgrens (? spelling) and other low to no saliva types of disorders and diseases as well as consider your medications or if there is a med to help you. In the mean time if your house is dry try a vaporizor, try sipping small amounts of room teperature water through out the day and try small candies maybe
