Not necessarily...
I had microscopic aspiration for over 40 years and never had pneumonia. I would have asthma like symptoms. Shortness of breath and a non- productive cough.
Raise the head of your bed by placing blocks of wood under the front legs 4 to 6 inches if you can. It is better to have your whole body at an angle instead of a wedge bending you in the middle. If for some reason you cannot raise the bed, you might check into the Bedzup.com wedge. It is inflatable so you can blow it up to the exact height that you need.
