It is true that acid in the mouth can rot the teeth. But for me, it was a bit more indirect. I didn't sleep well when I had reflux, and I would tend to grind my teeth. Getting a plastic "mouth guard" helped with that soreness.

But after my surgery, one of the nice surprises was that I slept so much better, and the teeth were much less of a problem.
