HI ...I had Fundo surgery Oct 2001,( also he repaired a large hiatal hernia) and had nausea for 6 weeks after. Finally my surgeon said the nausea had gone on long enough. He did the ultrasound on my pancreas and gallbladder. NO stones..then he did the Hida scan, showed my gb working 20%...he recommended I have it removed. I did Jan 2002, and am fine now. The gb surgery was Nothing...like having a tooth filled, only I was asleep...Actually the arthoscopical 4 holes he went in never hurt, and I felt fine after...I was in the hospital a total of about 5 hrs..and ate a little before I came home, slept...(felt groggy from the anthestic) and the next day did everything I normally do..the surgery was very simple...I did make sure the anesthesiologist knew I had had fundo surgery, and he put something in my medicine so I would not get nauseated. The nausea I had before gb surgery went away. I did have some diahrea off and on for about a month after my gb surgerey, but that subsided...many people do not though. I stay away from greasy foods now..knowing I do not have my gb to take the grease out...but if it was only working 20%, it was letting a lot of grease go thru my system anyhow before surgery. I guess I finally realized my hernia is fixed, my GERD is gone, and with no gb, and I am not getting any younger, I am making it a way of life to just eat healthier and slower and smaller amounts, and pray I live a long time...Never too late right? Good Luck yo you...
