I am scheduled to have a motility test Tues.morning. At the time I scheduled it I was having a lot of esophagus spasms, not painful, just fluttering feeling that affects my heart rhythm, more annoying than anything. I've discovered over time that there are certain things that are bringing these on. At the time I made this appointment to get this done I was having a lot of them, now I'm not having them at all. Figured out it was the Nexium. So switched back to Protonix. Then I had to go on an antibiotic for a throat infection (Zithromax) & every night I took one, the spasms would set in a few hours later. Yet there is other medication I can take that doesn't affect me in that way at all. What is up with that??? Anyway I'm thinking of cancelling this test now, since I'm really not crazy about having it done anyway! Plus they can't spray my nose or throat due to an allergy. Is this a test that is really necessary right now? I'm not planning on having surgery anytime soon. Just would like these spasms to go away! If I'm going to have it done, I'd like to do it when I'm actually having these spasms, so they can see that. I do get them at other times like when I'm feeling anxious/stressed but some of these meds are definetly affecting it in some way. Just wondered if anyone had any answers or advice. Thanks, I love reading this board, I have learned a lot! Jenny
