Hey Buffy!

Glad to hear that the meds are working for you! When do you go back for another scope of your larynx? I wrote a post about a week or so ago explaining my latest visit to the ENT.

I have a question ---what is your dosage of Neurontin? My primary care doc gave me a prescription for 100 mg, taken once daily - he wasn't sure of the dosage for me to try as there are many different uses for it, and I also respond very strongly to medication, so he prescribed the absolute smallest dosage. My ENT encouraged me to try it also, but he too wasn't sure what dosage is recommended for this.

I haven't tried it yet ---- because I had tried amytryptiline in Dec/Jan for throat pain(didn't work worth a hoot) but I gained 5 pounds! I read on the internet that people can gain weight with neurontin. I have my daughter's wedding coming up in 60 days and need to fit in my dress that is all bought and paid for, so I may wait til after the wedding. (Right about now I hear all the men groaning at such a silly rationale, and all the women thinking "that's right, sister"!) If the amytryptiline had worked, even with a weight gain, I would have continued on it, of course, but all it left me with was 5 pounds and the same old voice, so why bother.

Anyway, enlighten me, please! And are you experiencing any side effects on your neurontin dosage?

Hope you are having a wonderful day! Sharon
