Hey Miss Sharon (just got back from North Carolina)!! I am taking the Neurontin at 100 mg. three times a day to start since I am sensitive to meds, and then the doc gave me a script for 300 mg. three times a day should I feel it necessary. I upped my dosage to 200 mg. and that is keeping me at about 90-95% pain free. No side effects other than drowsiness and yes, I believe this medication could make you gain weight -- it seems to slow everything down. I switched to Prevacid from Nexium -- a whopping 90 mg. per day. One of these drugs has me refluxing more; however, something is working with regard to the pain -- don't know if it's the ppi keeping the acid under control, or the neurontin taking care of the sore throat. Dr. Koufman said that he did see a change (very slight) in the condition of my throat, so I have an appointment to go back and see him in about six weeks. I am thrilled that my throat is slowly, slowly, getting better and am so happy about not being in so much pain, but I am discouraged that I am refluxing more on the current medications. Time will tell. What do you think about the fundo, Sharon. From what I have been reading, it is sort of a life altering event - positively or negatively. I have never had surgery before, but things are kind of looking in that direction. Congrats on the upcoming wedding!
