Kathy, I had the gb removed Friday. Since then the reflux has lessened a bit, but I think it's too soon to say it's attributable to the gallbladder being gone. It could just be the Vicodan I'm taking for the surgery pain that's making me feel better. I had an ultrasound that showed one large stone and sand and sludge. I was having quite a bit of left shoulder pain that was making it hard to drive. That's gone now.
It seems that gallbladder issues are common with many people who've posted on the board. I have no regrets about getting mine out, even if it didn't cure the reflux. I'd always be wondering if the gb were the culprit.
I have read your posts and it seems we're in the same boat. What a drag this is. I want to begin testing ASAP to find out what it is I have. At least an upper GI. It seems to be such a long process to get to the real diagnostic phase here.
