I say bile because it doesn't burn like acid. I'm wondering what everyone else feels like when they experience the reflux. I know that bile is mixed with acid in the stomach, so maybe it's a combo of the two. I have had heartburn rarely in the past and there is a serious difference between the two tastes. Heartburn has been a definite burn sensation. What I reflux is not.

Lisa, if it is a bile type reflux, isn't that supposed to be generally more serious than acid reflux? Squirting in from the duodenum due to a faulty pylorus or something? And, way harder to fix? I can't figure why ph test monitoring wouldn't be able to differentiate betwixt bile and acid? I thought that was the reason for the ph test. Any help understanding this would be appreciated. ~Loo
